Paris is a different city by night: monuments glow, the riverbanks grow quieter and everything feels more intimate. If you’re planning a romantic evening date in Paris, here’s how to shape a seamless evening, with practical guidance on timing, places and private experiences.
Choose the right time
Aim for sunset to enjoy the light, then stay as night falls. Once night has arrived, the Eiffel Tower sparkles for a few minutes at the start of every hour. Plan your highlight around that moment. Sunset times vary by season, so it’s worth checking in advance rather than figuring it out when you get there.

Three ways to set the mood
On the water: the Seine by night
You can explore the banks of the Seine on foot, but the river is best experienced from a boat. Our private Seine cruise for two departs from Issy-les-Moulineaux and lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes aboard a private boat with a skipper. The route passes the Trocadéro, Grand Palais, Musée d'Orsay, Les Invalides, the Louvre and Notre-Dame, and is timed to bring you face to face with the Eiffel Tower as it lights up. Price: €590, with optional sunset cruise (+€50) and onboard decorations (+€100).
For a more refined evening, the prestige yacht experience lasts 2 hours and features an interior lounge, a stern deck with a beautifully set table, a cushioned foredeck, a captain and a maître d'hôtel. One bottle of champagne and one bottle of wine are included, for €1,290.
For a signature setting, the exceptional yacht experience departs from Port de Grenelle, just steps from the Eiffel Tower, for a 1.5-hour cruise at €990. This fully electric, silent boat took part in the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Up in the air: Paris from above
For a bird’s-eye view of the Île-de-France region, a helicopter experience for two includes a 20-minute private flight, with headsets so you can talk to each other. Price: €690 for the helicopter for two. An optional late-afternoon take-off lets you watch the sunset (+€150). Flights are weather-dependent: if conditions prevent take-off, the flight will be rescheduled or refunded.
A simple stroll on foot
A walk along the riverbanks, a stop in front of the Eiffel Tower and a late-night dessert: an evening that costs little or nothing. Choose a short route, have a backup plan in case of rain, and save a special moment for the end.
An example of a perfect evening
- 6:30 pm: board for a 1.5-hour cruise, drink in hand, as the city lights up.
- 8 pm: return to the quay and enjoy a short walk along the Seine.
- 8:30 pm: dinner at a restaurant booked in advance, followed by a dessert to share.
These timings are suggestions: the ideal time depends on the season and availability.
Mistakes to avoid
- Booking too late: evening slots fill up quickly, especially around the holidays.
- Packing in too many activities: two highlights are plenty.
- Forgetting the weather: always have an alternative in mind.
