Valentine's Day during Covid required creativity: masks, outdoor cafes, and adapted romantic plans.

Valentine's Day: What is the situation?

At this time, a third lockdown is foreseeable given the evolution of the situation. As a reminder, lockdown (unless lifted) requires you to stay at home except in a few exceptional situations (Valentine's Day not being one of them). Possibilities are therefore reduced.

Closed restaurants

As you know and since last October 30, our favorite restaurants have closed their doors to limit the spread of Covid 19. To meet the demand, many of them have chosen to venture into takeout and home delivery via existing platforms (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, JustEat). It goes without saying that the "format" is not the most convincing for a romantic dinner. But with a little extra effort, you can easily get a satisfactory result.

Open hotels

Good news however for our hotels which remain open during this crisis. Due to a lack of reservations, prices have dropped significantly on booking platforms such as Booking.com, Expedia, and others. Do some research by selecting 4-star establishments offering spa time at a reduced price (sometimes even included).

Our solutions

Curfew or lockdown or not: a few solutions are still available to you.

Getaway: in the context of a curfew, your outing hours remain limited, but your travel remains free. Opt for a romantic weekend in the mountains (possibility of ski touring, snowmobile riding, dog sledding, sledding, tasting local specialties), by the sea, or abroad (depending on entry policies). A change of air will do you the greatest good.

At home: in the context of a lockdown, opt for an all-in-home approach by decorating your living room, your bedroom, or any other place, and creating a romantic and escapist atmosphere a few steps from your bed. Have a jacuzzi or inflatable spa delivered and installed by a provider (easily found on Google), opt for a candlelit evening by adapting your interior decoration, or go camping in the middle of your living room. Here are a few examples in photos.
